Bowling Techniques to become a Fast Bowler
A fast bowler on the pitches does much more than just sprint the bowl towards the batsman. The most desirable position of Speedbolt is achieved after applying several techniques and acquiring the right position of arms, legs and torso at an angle of 90 degrees. If you intend to become a fast bowler and dream of achieving the Speedbolt position one day then you can join the best cricket academy in Gurgaon along with following the below-mentioned techniques.
Basics of Bowling
1.The fundamental grip: This varies depending on the delivery style you wish to bowl. Before attempting more complex approaches, you must perfect your basic grip and bowling motion.
Use your fingers, not your palm, to hold the ball. Place the thumb directly underneath and the middle and index fingers on either side of the seam. The bowler should examine the distance between the ball and the 'V' formed by the thumb and index finger after gripping the ball.
2. The run-up: For beginners, the run-up should last between 5 and 11 steps. Consistently taking large strides during the run-up will assist the bowler to establish a smooth and steady rhythm.
3. The delivery phase and implementation:
(A) The delivery and follow-through of the bowling motion begin at the conclusion of the run-up. The bowling hand should be beneath the chin and the weight should shift from the left foot to the right foot while beginning to bowl. The bowler should begin his delivery stride by stepping off with his left foot (for right-handers). The bowler's right shoulder should be moved toward the batsman while the torso should lean upward. He should put all of his attention on the wickets at the batsman's end while fully extending his front arm. His upper body should slant away from the batsman, and his back foot should flex toward the bowling crease.
(B) From the perspective of the other end, the bowler should be sideways when he lands on his right (rear) foot. He should raise his left arm above his head and turn to face the wickets while doing so. He should concurrently begin advancing his back leg.
(C) He should shift his weight to his front foot, lower his front arm, extend his bowling arm behind him, and move his left hip and shoulder in the direction of the batter.
(D) The bowler needs to cock his wrist. The bowling arm should be raised straight up to its highest position before releasing the ball. The moment the ball is delivered, the follow-through starts. After delivery, the bowling arm should be brought down across the body while the head and eyes are kept stable. The right knee should be in close proximity to the body. The follow-through shouldn't include dropping the chin.
